In 2005, Drew Lazor started interning at alt-weekly Philadelphia City Paper. By 2008, Drew had distinguished himself for his interest in the local food scene and at the urging of his editor, started a food blog, Meal Ticket. Two years later, the blog has become one of the most popular food blogs in the city and Drew Lazor has become Philly’s go-to food guy. We chatted with Drew about his early foodie beginnings, his favorite Filipino dishes and his list of Top 5 Philadelphia Dishes (His answers may surprise you. Hint: No cheesesteaks.)

Drew answered questions from our Twitter followers, talked about his favorite Filipino dishes, and told us his favorite restaurant. He also talked at length about his love for Top Chef host, Padma Lakshmi, his excitement about upcoming movie Tron Legacy, PYT’s Krispy Kreme burger, bourbon and what he thinks will replace the city’s cupcake phenomenon.
Finally we asked Drew about his recent nomation for the The 2010 Philebrity Awards Phoodie of the Year. (Last year’s winner was chef Jose Garces.) Right now he’s neck-to-neck with the cupcake lady, Kate Carrara. Voting ends Tuesday, December 14 so don’t forget to cast your vote!
