Lushlife aka Raj Haldar had been producing rap instrumentals since high school, but soon found himself dissatisfied with the way vocalists were interpreting his lyrics. So the talented instrumentalist decided to take a hand at the art of rap himself. The results surprised even him. Now, at age 29, Haldar, who lives in South Philadelphia, has produced three albums featuring his rapping: Order of Operations in 2006, Cassette City in 2009 and the soon-to-be released Plateau Vision, which releases this year.
Haldar hits the road later this spring to promote Plateau Vision in Europe, but he’ll soon be back in the 215 to play a few shows for the folks at home. In the meantime, you can find him on Twitter and MySpace.
