Dilruba Ahmed, a Philadelphia-born poet, brings her work to the city of brother love this Saturday, July 16. Together with fans and friends, Ahmed celebrates the publication of her first book of poetry, Dhaka Dust at the Black Sheep Pub at 8PM. Her poems take readers all over the world — from small-town Ohio to the bustling capital city of Bangladesh, Dhaka. We spoke with the award-winning poet about her travels across America as a young child, the writers who influenced her and of course – her poems. We also caught up with her at a reading for the Chesnut Hill Book Festival and recorded some of her poetry. To hear more of Ahmed’s work, join her this Saturday. We’ll be there as well!
