About Talkadelphia

Kishwer has been living in and around Philadelphia her entire life. When she’s not riding her bike or people-watching in Rittenhouse Square, she blogs for Sepia Mutiny, MTV Desi and her personal blog, Phillygrrl. In her spare time, she attends Temple Law School.

Gino grew up in the Philippines before moving to Texas —  where he got the nickname Gino the Filipino. But he became an American citizen just this year and now he calls Philadelphia his home. When he’s not watching movies, playing football in Fairmount Park or working on insurance claims, he studies at Temple Law School.

Talkadelphia started in October after Kishwer was listening to NPR’s Fresh Air and wondered why Philadelphia didn’t have a similar show. So she put the idea out on Twitter and Gino took it from there. With only a laptop and their trusty microphone named Marvin, Kishwer and Gino set out to talk to every single Philadelphian that fascinated them. Since they started, they’ve interviewed Tek Lado Magazine’s Liz Spikol and Mel Gomez, Citypaper’s Drew Lazor and Geekadelphia’s Eric Smith – among others.
